An exciting start of the week for the team at Goss & Partners. After months of technical appraisal and design development, work has now begun on site at The Old Schoolhouse.
This project has been 2 years in the making, after a rigorous planning procedure saw the client testing the limits to reach their required brief. Once planning was achieved, we then worked closely with the main contractor, Horton Barns Limited, to get the build ready for commencement.
Groundworks have since begun on site, on schedule, and the frame will look to be erected in roughly 3 weeks - and will drastically transform the site. Unfortunately, due to the recent weather, lots of buckets were needed on site this morning... however positive attitudes are still being had by the contractors.
The design saw the collaboration of our design team, with the manufacturing team at Horton Barns, who worked closely with Newbury based Engineers Archibald Shaw. This 2 storey Oak frame structure is supported by a steel PFC inside, which will support the frame in strong winds.
Stay posted for more information as work develops.
